BOMBARDIER: Capacity, efficiency and urban flow are the key themes for Bombardier Transportation’s ‘biggest and best exhibition yet’.

‘Capacity’ exhibits will highlight rolling stock with flexible interiors designed for moving more people in greater comfort. Two double-deck EMUs will be on display, an Omneo (Régio2N) for SNCF, and the inter-city version of the Twindexx Vario for DB. There will be demonstrations of the EBI Tool Maintenance & Diagnostic Centre, which combines corrective, preventative and predictive infrastructure maintenance information with historical data and trends to facilitate effective infrastructure management.

‘Efficiency’ exhibits will focus on how advanced technologies can bring better performance, with optimised lifecycle and infrastructure costs as well as higher safety and availability. Visitors will be able to see inside one of Deutsche Bahn’s Traxx AC locomotives with a last mile diesel engine, and there will the opportunity to take a close look at a Flex compact bogie with Flexx Tronic Wako technology which is designed for passenger comfort and to permit trains to run through curves up to 15% faster. Also on show will be the Flexx Eco bogie for regional, long distance and high speed trains including DB’s future ICx fleet. Bombardier will also be showing its Fleet Management System which integrates real-time data and diagnostic technology, and to learn more about the latest innovations in propulsion technology, energy management and train control management which offer ways to cut energy consumption while improving reliability, availability and maintainability.

‘Urban Flow’ exhibits will include a Flexity 2 tram for Belgium’s De Lijn and an Innovia 300 monorail car. There will be the chance to discuss the Cityflo signalling technology which is being deployed on 27 of the world’s busiest mass transit systems. There will be the chance to learn more about Bombardier’s services portfolio for urban fleets.
