INNOTRANS: Knorr-Bremse sees InnoTrans 2018 and German motor vehicle show IAA as its ‘key’ trade fairs this year, the rolling stock and commercial vehicle braking and subsystem supplier said when announcing its preliminary results for 2017 on February 7.

The company will be using the two trade fairs to showcase technologies designed to address the challenges now facing the rail and road sectors, which it identifies as electrification, connectivity/digitalisation and automated driving.

Knorr-Bremse’s approach to these ‘combines ongoing strong investment in the development of new systems and in state-of-the-art production technologies with over 110 years’ experience’, according to executive board Chairman Klaus Deller.

‘New competitors are entering this arena and the entire landscape of operators, OEMs and suppliers is being reshaped’, said Deller. ‘With our broad product portfolio, our future-oriented technologies and outstanding market coverage, as well as our dedicated workforce, we are well positioned and will face up to these challenges with confidence.’
