DMRC CPWD MoU

INDIA: Delhi Metro Rail Corp has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Central Public Works Department to provide technical assistance for development of a metro loop serving the Central Vista redevelopment project, which includes the new parliament building and government offices.

Connecting with the Yellow Line 2 and Violet Line 6 at Central Secretariat, the 3 km underground loop would have three new stations serving the office developments. Ridership is predicted at 20 000 passengers/h in the morning and evening peaks.

Under the MoU signed on February 28 DMRC will prepare a detailed project report, finalise the horizontal and vertical alignments, provide specifications for the stations and maintenance facilities, and appoint a detailed design consultant. During the construction phase, CPWD would be responsible for the civil works, and DMRC for the railway systems and rolling stock.
