TAIWAN: The Executive Yuan approved a 4 km extension of the Sanying (Light Blue) line metro in New Taipei on August 1.
The fully elevated Sanying line is under construction on a 14·3 km route from the southern Dingpu terminus of Taipei metro’s Blue Line to Yingtao Fude on the border of New Taipei and Taoyuan. Opening of this initial section is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
The extension would run from Yingtao Fude to Danan on Taoyuan’s under-construction Green Line, serving three stations.
Civil works on the newly approved extension are expected to begin next year.
