RUSSIA: Bakulin Motors Group subsidiary Volgabus is to supply 10 electric buses to St Petersburg operator Passazhiravtotrans for use on Route 128.

The fully low-floor 12 m long Cityrhytm 12ELF buses are due to arrive by the end of the year. They will have capacity for 90 passengers, including 30 seated, and will be equipped with CCTV and USB sockets.

In addition to the 214·3m rouble cost of the vehicles, 1·5m roubles is being spent on five 400 V charging points to be installed in one of Passazhiravtotrans’s depots. The operator envisages savings of around 45 roubles/h of operation compared with diesel buses.
