MASSIVE expansion of the U-Bahn network has been proposed by the Berlin Senate. If the plans go ahead, nearly 32 km would be added to the present 143 km by 2025, with alignments reserved for a further 53 km after that.

GERMANY: Three extensions of the Berlin U-Bahn network have been deemed ‘structurally and technically’ feasible, according to a study commissioned by the city government.
EUROPE: Austrian Federal Railways has put into service the first of its updated Railjet trainsets on services linking Germany, Austria and Italy. Toma Bačić rode on a preview run between München and Verona on April 5.
