UK: High speed rail lobby group Greengauge 21 has announced the formation of an HSR Industry Leaders Group to bring together companies with expertise in all aspects of high speed rail implementation including engineering, operations, planning and delivery.
Founder members Atkins, Bechtel, Carillion, CH2M Hill, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Siemens and the Railway Industry Association will combine their expertise to ensure the UK’s high speed rail network is delivered successfully. According to Greengauge 21, they will focus on development of the supply chain, preparing British-based businesses to take advantage of the opportunities offered by High Speed 2.
Secretary of State for Transport Justine Greening lent her support to the initiative, saying ‘this group will complement the wider work that is underway and will play an important role in helping to bring together the supply chain and prepare the market for the potential ahead.’
