OSTMECKLENBURGISCHE Bahnwerk has rebuilt a former German Railway V200.1 diesel-hydraulic locomotive for Würzburg-based operator EBW.

Previously used by Prignitzer Railway, and before that Hellenic Railways Organisation, the 40-year old BB loco has had its Maybach engines replaced with two Deutz TBD620V12 engines with turbocharging and charge air cooling producing 1087 kW at 1500 rev/min. These drive 184U four-speed Maybach Mekhydro transmissions. The EMRII electric engine governor from Deutz sends 110V digital signals to a recently-developed relay switching unit, which in turn provides 24V for the engine control unit. Digital data for engine monitoring are sent via a CAN bus to on-board displays.
