UNDER a contract worth over £4m, Metalastik Vibration Control Systems is supplying rubber/metal suspension components for bogies being

built by Adtranz at Derby for London Underground’s Northern line trains under construction at GEC Alsthom Metro-Cammell near Birmingham. For the bogies, Metalastik is supplying primary and secondary suspension springs, flexible frame bushes and shoe beam bushes.

H The Adtranz Northern line bogies will also feature

anti- roll bar assemblies from the Silentbloc Division of

Silvertown UK Ltd, supplied under a contract worth £1m. Linking bogie and car body, each assembly comprises a rubber-mounted torsion bar operated by vertical links and connected via rubber bushes to forged fork arms.
