Belgium: Rail Service Net has ordered a Rafamet UFB 125 N wheel lathe for delivery next year.
France: RATP has signed an agreement with telecoms operator SFR that should see 3G and 4G available by the end of 2014 at the 170 busiest stations on the Paris metro and RER networks, covering 75% of journeys. All RATP stations and trains should be covered by the end of 2015.

Poland: PKP PLK has awarded a consortium of Schuessler-Plan Inynierzy and Eko-konsulting a 3m złoty contract to prepare documentation for modernising the Poznan – Szczecin line to raise speeds to 160 km/h.
