THAILAND: Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has commissioned a feasibility and business case study for a proposed light rail line between Bang Na and Suvarnabhumi International Airport, which it envisages could be built and operated under a public-private partnership contract.

The two-year study is being undertaken by TEAM Consulting Engineering & Management, Avantgarde Capital, InfraTrans Consultants, Daoreuk Communications and PSK Consultants.

The proposed line would follow Debaratana (Bang Na-Trat) Road. Phase one would start at an interchange with the BTS Sukhumvit (Light Green) metro line at Bang Na intersection and run east to Thana City with 12 stops, and a second phase would extend this to Krirk University and the airport.
