FRANCE: A 1·8 km extension of the Strasbourg tram network opened on April 23, adding three stops to the southern end of Line A.

Construction of the extension from Illkirch-Lixenbuhl to Graffenstaden took 2½ years and cost €37m. Greater Strasbourg provided €29m, the central government contributed €5·3m, and €1·5m came from the Bas-Rhin département. Alstom supplied electrification equipment.

The opening of the extension coincides with the extension of Line E services to Campus Ilkirch.
