TMH EP3D EMU

RUSSIA: Russian Railways has awarded Transmashholding’s Demikhovo plant a contract to supply a further four six-car and four four-car EP3D electric multiple-units by the end of the year.

They will feature wear-resistant seats, retention toilets and HVAC with ultraviolet air disinfection. A custom feature for Russian Railways is the use of retractable steps for use at low platforms, and the trains will also have wheelchair lifts, facilities for securing wheelchairs and signage in Braille.

TMH Demikhovo has been producing EP3D EMUs since 2016, with 266 cars so far supplied to Russian Railways and to Kazakhstan.
