Eversholt Rail has awarded Knorr-Bremse RailServices a contract to refurbish 22 Class 320 electric multiple-units operated by ScotRail.

UK: Leasing company Eversholt Rail has awarded Knorr-Bremse RailServices a contract to undertake a £6m refurbishment of 22 three-car Class 320 electric multiple-units operated by ScotRail.

KBRS will undertake the work at its Springburn site in Glasgow between October 2017 and early 2019. The scope includes repainting all surfaces, installing new flooring, tables and seat moquette, fitting at-seat power sockets, LED lighting, enhanced CCTV and new signage and providing a dedicated cycle space.

'The refurbishment of the Class 320 fleet will deliver a much improved experience around Glasgow and Lanarkshire', said Ian McConnell, Programmes & Transformation Director at the ScotRail Alliance, on March 6. 'By 2019, 90% of our rolling stock will either be new or refurbished, and 200 additional services will run each day.'
