UK: Barnbrook Systems has been awarded a ‘six-figure’ contract to maintain more than 100 brake controller units that it supplied for Class 15x diesel multiple-units.
The company said this represents significant repeat business, as it expands in the UK and abroad.
The brake controllers uses Barnbrook’s BlueCube remote sensing technology for real-time performance reporting to support predictive maintenance.
‘Our first order for the brake controller was more than a decade ago when we re-engineered an original model which was out of service and no longer commercially available’, Managing director Andrew Barnett said on June 18.
’We created a new and improved unit which was compatible with older trains. This has allowed train operating and rolling stock leasing companies to extend the lifespan of assets, combat obsolescence and ensure greater business continuity with benefits for passengers, communities and economies they serve.
‘We continue to upgrade the brake controller and deliver scheduled maintenance programmes to ensure optimum performance.’
