UK: Ticket retailing technology supplier SilverRail is to provide its e-commerce platform to First Rail’s passenger train operators Great Western Railway, Hull Trains and Lumo.
SilverRail said the cloud-based platform would provide seamless ticket retailing, flexible journey planning and simplified transactions.
‘We aim to improve not only how customers purchase tickets, but also how they experience the entire journey, supported by up-to-the-minute journey information’, said David Pitt, Vice-President for UK Rail at SilverRail.
First Rail Head of Retail Ceri Harris said ‘this partnership will help us improve the user experience to ensure digital journeys are intuitive, efficient, and customer-focused.’
Roll-out is planed for later this year.
