The Railtex and Infrarail 2021 trade fairs have been postponed to September 7-9 2021, organiser Mack-Brooks Exhibitions has confirmed.

UK: The Railtex and Infrarail trade fairs have been postponed to September 7-9 2021, organiser Mack-Brooks Exhibitions has confirmed.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the organiser decided that the Infrarail 2020 event which was to have been held at London’s Olympia on May 12-14 this year would be rescheduled and be co-located with Railtex 2021 which was scheduled to be held at the NEC in Birmingham on May 11–13 2021. The two exhibitions usually take place in alternating years.

The combined events have now been put back to September 2021.

‘After closely monitoring the situation around Covid-19 and the associated restrictions currently in place, we have been able to secure an alternative slot’, said Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of Mack-Brooks Exhibitions, on November 25.

‘Whilst the decision to postpone the event was not taken lightly, our number one priority is to set up the correct framework and planning security for the UK rail industry. This includes setting up extensive measures to do everything we can to ensure the safety and well being of everyone involved.’

  • Separately, the UK rail and urban rail industries will be gathering virtually to discuss the latest trends and technologies at the SmartRail UK event which is to be held online on February 22-25 2021. Senior-level speakers from across the rail sector will share their expertise via presentations, Q&A sessions and roundtable discussions, with each day focusing on a particular topic so that participants can select the presentations most relevant to their needs.
