UK: Tool and equipment hire company Speedy Hire and portable lighting specialist Ritelite Systems have staged their second annual Ticket to Innovate event, aiming to bring rail industry suppliers and customers together to see the latest innovations with practical deployment heading the agenda.
They said the event, held at the heritage Nene Valley Railway on November 5, was significantly larger in scale and attendance than the first one, with more suppliers participating and a wider range of live demonstrations.
‘We had key decision makers at the event and it was a huge success’, said Daryl Doherty, Rail Director at Speedy Hire. ‘The day gave customers and suppliers the opportunity to discuss specific needs and explore how, collaboratively and through innovation, we can overcome challenges together.’
Managing Director of Ritelite Systems Marcus Batty said ‘the benefit of hosting the event in a real rail environment is that it sparks valuable conversations, which often lead to innovative ideas for solving issues unique to rail projects’.
