SWEDEN: Regional transport authority Skånetrafiken has selected CAF to supply seven trams to operate on the tram line that is under construction in Lund.
The contract for the five-section Urbos trams includes options for more vehicles. CAF will provide 10 years of maintenance for the 32 m long vehicles.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the 5·5 km route with nine stops took place in February 2017. Skanska is acting as contractor, and opening is due in September 2019. The project is being undertaken jointly by Skånetrafiken and the municipality of Lund.
