CHINA: Pandrol China and the Metal & Chemistry Research Institute of the China Academy of Railway Sciences have signed a framework agreement outlining a collaborative approach to promoting Pandrol’s i+weld aluminothermic welding system and supporting China Railway’s Auto-ATW (automated thermit welding) requirements.

Pandrol developed i+weld to help welders complete more rail welds in less time using semi-automated processes that streamline training and reduce physical strain on workers.

‘This is a really important agreement for Pandrol China and we are looking forward to building important new business relationships within the Chinese railway sector’, said Nicolas Demond, Head of Engineering ATW/EQC at Pandrol, on November 17. ’Innovations like our i+weld solution are just right for the Chinese market and with the technical support and training from our experienced team, rail welds can be completed more quickly and at a higher standard, whilst addressing skills shortages.’
