MerMec has signed a co-operation agreement with FS Group’s engineering consultancy Italferr. The two companies aim to pool their technical skills to increase their presence in the international market and promote their products and services. Initially running for two years, the agreement envisages that the companies will develop joint teams to analyse potential markets ‘of interest’, identify commercial initiatives that could benefit both companies, and form joint ventures to participate in international tenders.
Newag and Bombardier signed a letter of intent for a long-term ‘strategic partnership’ at InnoTrans. Details are still to be finalised, but joint bids for rolling stock contracts are envisaged with Bombardier contributing technical knowledge and Newag low-cost manufacturing facilities.
