Stadler and Ebblo have entered into a non-exclusive co-operation agreement covering TFT displays and passenger information systems. Under the agreement MOFIS Passenger Information Monitor TFT displays from Stadler Signalling’s Passenger Information division can be integrated into Ebblo’s Intermodal Transport Control System which provides real time monitoring and enables communication between vehicles and control centres. ‘We are combining our strengths to create future-ready passenger information solutions that benefit both transport operators and passengers alike’, said Albrecht Teich, Managing Director of Stadler Signalling Germany.

DB InfraGO has awarded Vossloh a three-year framework agreement for the supply of large turnout components including switches and crossings. It is extendible by two years which could take the total value to more than €100m.

Watson Farley & Williams advised wagon leasing company Wascosa on a €300m increase of its existing capex facilities under its financing platform. ‘The transaction underscores our experience in advising on complex, high-value financing in the transport and infrastructure sector’, said Asset & Structured Finance Partner Frederik Lorenzen.

SJ Götalandståg has renewed Alstom’s contract to maintain the fleet used on Västtågen pasenger services that it operates on behalf of western Sweden regional transport authority Västtrafik. The contract runs for 11 years from December 2027 and is worth almost €200m. Alstom will take on greater responsibility, including heavy maintenance, under the new agreement, and will have a strong focus on the development and implementation of digital maintenance technologies. 

Henkel has added Teroson MS 949 FR to its portfolio of durable flame-resistant sealants for rolling stock interior and exterior applications, including around windows, doors, floor panels, side panels, ceilings, lights, HVAC systems and between the cab and passenger saloon. 

CAF has started construction of its second maintenance centre in Germany, which will service battery-electric trains on Nahverkehr Westfalen-Lippe’s RB68 Münster – Sendenhorst and RB76 Harsewinkel – Gütersloh – Verl routes.

Italian high speed train operator Italo is to use Starlink low-earth orbit satellite connectivity to provide onboard internet access. The roof-mounted antennas will be installed from May, with roll-out across its entire fleet scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.’We are the first major high speed railway company in the world to focus on this technology’, said Italo CEO Gianbattista La Rocca.
