
Alstom is to invest 170m złoty in its Chorzów factory in Poland over the next two years, including the construction of three production halls with a total area of nearly 8 000 m² and the installation of new equipment. ‘With new production capacities in our Polish sites, we are planning to execute an ambitious portfolio of orders for international clients’, said Beata Rusinowicz, Managing Director of Alstom in Poland, Ukraine & the Baltic States, on May 28. ‘This includes the production of Coradia Stream trains for Denmark, Romania and Bulgaria, as well as double-decker Coradia Max trains for German operators.’

Texol Steel Technology and Chinese engineering group Hubei Provincial Mechanical & Electrical Institute have agreed to develop the project of the plant for the production of small and medium castings for rolling stock at Atyrau in Kazkahstan. Capacity of 30 000 tonnes/year is planned by 2027, creating 500 jobs.
The Greenbrier Companies has renewed its $600m domestic revolving facility and $250m term loan, with favourable pricing and terms, extending both instruments by five years until 2030. With this activity completed, its remaining long-term debt maturities are staggered into 2030, with the next significant debt tranche maturing in 2027. President & CEO Lorie Tekorius said ‘over the last two years, we have thoughtfully realigned our debt profile to feature more non-recourse borrowing, following two successful Asset Backed Security offerings in 2022 and 2023 and the repayment of $180m of recourse debt. This maximises shareholder returns through a balanced approach to equity and non-recourse debt.’
