Austrian measurement technology specialist PJM has been commissioned to test the brakes and acoustics of a Beilhack HB 1100S snowblower built by Aebi Schmidt Group for Norwegian infrastructure manager Bane Nor. On-track tests have been completed, and acoustic measurements for employee health and safety are to be carried out. ‘The Beilhack HB 1100S is a high-performance snow blower that we develop and manufacture on a project basis. The tests carried out by PJ Messtechnik provide us with the data required for approval and we gain valuable insights for the further development of these highly complex machines’, said Thomas Kaiser, Project Manager at Aebi Schmidt.

Railway electrification and power supply infrastructure contractor Rail Power Systems has acquired HST Hilser Straßen & Tiefbau as part of a succession plan for long-term owner Detlef Hilser who is retiring. Berlin-based HST Hilser has previously been an electrical and railway power supply subcontractor to RPS, and will continue to operate as an independent company under the leadership of Managing Director Uwe Niebuhr.

Doug Severidt has joined North American Rail Solutions as Procurement Director, reporting directly to the VP of Assets & Procurement. He will be responsible for collaboration with vendors, project managers, estimators, operational leaders and other key stakeholders to build scalable and efficient procurement strategies in the USA and Canada, including identifying opportunities to reduce cost and risk across the supply chain.
