VALDUNES: French rolling stock wheel manufacturer Valdunes announced on April 3 that its management had obtained approval for the company to move from the current safeguarding procedure into receivership, 'in order to facilitate the continuity of its activities'.

The company said the change in status was 'not a result of a state of insolvency', and that 'the company has the funds needed to continue its activity'.

Valdunes' various activities will now be offered for sale. The company said several 'industrial investors' had already committed to making offers, and the aim is to select a new owner by June 'who will commit to deliver investments, both financial and human, to support the modernisation and long-term sustainability of Valdunes.'

  • GHH-Bonatrans has awarded Valdunes a contract to supply 22 000 forged wheels by June 30 2015.
