SWEDEN: National passenger operator SJ has awarded Faiveley Transport a €10m contract to overhaul and upgrade doors on the 36 SJ2000 trainsets as part a SKr3·5bn major refurbishment programme.
Electrical cylinders are to be installed to upgrade the doors from pneumatic to electric, while keeping the existing frames and door leaves. New electrical systems will provide increased reliability and safety features including sensitive edges, locking devices and emergency access.
Design, validation and production for the door project will take place at Faiveley Transport’s facility at Saint-Pierre-des-Corps in France, while project management, installation and customer support will be handled through Faiveley Transport Nordic.
