The Transportation Safety Board of Canada makes two recommendations in its report into a January 2019 collision involving two Canadian National trains near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba: that Transport Canada should require all major Canadian railways to expedite the implementation of physical fail-safe train controls on all key routes, and that railways should be required to implement formal crew resource management training as part of qualification training for operating employees.

ČD Cargo is delivering six-car metro trains for Warszawa from Škoda’s Plzen factory via Praha, Havlíčkův Brod, Brno, Přerov and Bohumín. The maximum permitted speed is 60 km/h, reducing to 40 km/h through stations, and services include additional wagons for braking and adapter wagons with a metro coupler on one end.

GB Railfreight has begun transporting slate from Llandudno Junction yard to Luton under a joint initiative between Network Rail, construction materials company Breedon and the Welsh government which has provided Freight Facilities Grant match funding for rehabilitation of the yard.

The development authority has appointed Watco to provide shunting, transloading, warehouse, material handling, lorry and logistics services including an approved Foreign Trade Zone at the Great Plains Industrial Park in Parsons, Kansas, from January 1 2023.

ZMK has delivered 11 six-axle dump wagons of 50 m3 and 115 tonne capacity to Evraz’s Kachkanararsky GOK subsidiary. The capacity is 10 tonnes more than the legacy Type 33-1157 wagon design.
