Brazil: Thales and T’Trans are to supply telecoms, passenger information systems and CCTV for São Paulo monorail Line 17.

China: Hollysys has been awarded two contracts totalling US$20·7m to provide signalling components for the 250 km/h Qingdao – Rongcheng and Jilin – Huichun lines, scheduled to open by the end of 2014 and in October 2015.

Colombia: GE Transportation and PowerTrunk are to provide PTC with Tetra communications for Fenoco.

Czech Republic: Kapsch CarrierCom is to install GSM-R on the 200 km Kolín –Kizanov – Brno route and on 110 km of routes around Praha.

Hungary: Infrastructure agency NIF has awarded Siemens three contracts totalling €60m for installation of ETCS Level 2 on 200 track-km of the Ferencváros – Gyoma and Ferencváros – Székesfehérvár routes.

Iraq: Harsco Rail is to supply a self-propelled track geometry inspection vehicle to IRR in early 2015.

Kazakhstan: Harsco Rail has won its second Kazakh contract in four years, saying the deal to supply to supply a Switch Tamping Machine to Tengizchevroil ‘is an important step in globalising’ the STM which has ‘a strong value proposition for applications which do not require larger machines’.

Poland: PKP PLK has awarded Stan-Led a 1·22m złoty contract to build a replacement single-platform station at abowo, 800 m from the current site.

PKP PLK has awarded Bombardier and KZA Kraków a 105m złoty contract to supply EBI Gate 1000 and EBI Gate 2000 level crossing systems.

Mosty Infrastruktura has won a 239m złoty contract to undertake Phase 2 of the ód east-west tramway modernisation. This includes upgrading 6 km of double track and construction of a 5 km extension to Olechów by 2016.

PKP PLK has selected Trakcja PRKiI to undertake track, platform and electrification renewals on the 24 km Warszawa Okcie – Czachówek section of the Warszawa – Radom corridor at cost of 376m złoty.

Russia: Stroy-Trest has been awarded a 29·3bn roubles contract to build the 6609 m single track New Baikal Tunnel on the BAM route.

Slovakia: Kapsch CarrierCom has been awarded a €20m contract to provide GSM-R on the 250 km route from Bratislava to the Czech border via Žilina and adca. AŽD Praha is to provide ETCS Level 2 on the 37 km section from Žilina to the border for €45m.

Spain: Coalvi has been awarded a €8·5m contract to build two gauge-changing installations in León, where 1435 mm services leaving the high speed line from Valladolid will join the 1668 mm conventional network.

ADIF has awarded Bombardier and Thales a €44m contract to supply signalling for the second phase of the Mediterranean Corridor upgrade, covering the Almussafes – Valencia – Castelló de la Plana route. Bombardier’s €27m share includes Interflo 200 train control with EBI Lock 950 interlockings, EBI Track train detection, telecoms and hot box detectors. The contract includes 24 months of maintenance.

Amurrio Ferrocarril y Equipos, Felguera Melt, Jez Sistemas Ferroviarios and Talleres Alegría have been awarded a €15·4m contract to supply turnouts for Phase 1 of the Valladolid – León high speed line within 12 months.

Tecsa has been awarded a €5·1m contract to undertake tracklaying on the 44 km Palencia – Villada section of the Valladolid – León high speed line.

Vías y Construcciones, Torrescámara and Electren have been awarded a €11·5m contract to undertake track and OHLE work on the 77 km Castelló – Vinaròs section of the Mediterranean Corridor, including the provision of 1435 mm gauge. Work on the 70 km Vinaròs – Vandellòs section is to be undertaken by Acciona and Comsa under a separate contract worth €7·2m.

USA: Bombardier has selected Lilee Systems to provide the communications technology for the roll-out of PTC on New York MTA’s Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road lines.

Swedish firm Huddig is to supply four road-rail excavators for trials with two Class I railroads.
