VOITH: The development of a horizontal diesel engine for rail applications offering up to 23% more power than comparable engines while meeting the Stage V exhaust standards coming into force in 2021 will be highlighted by Voith at InnoTrans 2018.

Derived from construction machine engines, the six cylinder engine would be rated at 480 kW with a maximum torque of 2 800 Nm.

It will be offered in RailPack drive units with electric and hydraulic transmission options, and would not need more space than competing options.
