Aurizon (formerly QR National) is Australia's largest rail freight company with services operating across five states. It transports coal, iron ore, other minerals, agricultural products and general freight. The company operates and manages the Central Queensland Coal Network (2670 km) that links mines to coal ports at Bowen, Mackay and Gladstone. Aurizon also manages substantial tonnages of coal in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. It was formerly owned by the Queensland Government and its shares were listed in November 2010. In October 2018 Aurizon announced that it would sell its intermodal business to Linfox.
