Administrative regional council in northeastern France, responsible for subsidising and specifying service levels for local railways, receiving a grant from central government towards the subsidy. It also finances purchase of new trains. The 2014 French regions reform resulted in merger of Alsace, Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine on 1 January 2016.
