FINLAND: Helsinki transport operator HKL has ordered a further 10 ForCity Smart Artic trams from Škoda Transportation subsidiary Transtech. The contract announced on June 14 is worth €30m.

HKL ordered 40 trams from Transtech under a framework contract in 2010 that includes options for 90 more. In December 2016 the operator approved the purchase of 20 more. So far 48 of the ForCity Smart Artic trams have been put into service.

The fully low-floor metre gauge unidirectional three-section trams are 27·4 m long.
