CATERING contractor to Eurostar Group since June 1 this year (RG 8.00 p475), Momentum has introduced a number of changes to food service on the high speed trains linking London with Paris and Brussels. The new seasonal menu for first class passengers introduced on October 13 was accompanied by an expanded range of wines. French wines have been joined for the first time by Three Choirs, a white wine from Gloucestershire in England, as well as a Chilean Merlot.

At-seat breakfast service in first class has been extended until 11.00, and passengers on trains departing after 09.30 will be served an aperitif before arrival at their destination. A new afternoon meal is offered on trains departing between 14.00 and 17.00, comprising lighter Indian, Chinese or Spanish tapas-style dishes accompanied by salad and followed by a selection of pastries. Premium First passengers will have the choice of this meal or the four-course lunch at any time during the afternoon.

From November 1 a wider range of sandwiches will be available to standard class passengers using the buffet or trolley service, including two that can be served hot or cold. Further standard class developments are expected to follow. n
