UK: Testing has started on the Trafford Park extension of the Manchester Metrolink tram network.

Low-speed night time testing is taking place between Pomona and Warren Bruce Road at the eastern end of the 5·5 km extension to the Trafford Centre retail complex. Due to open in the first half of 2020, the mostly segregated alignment would have six stops.

Work on the branch began in late 2016 and is being undertaken by the MPact Thales consortium of Laing O’Rourke, VolkerRail and Thales, and Transport for Greater Manchester’s delivery partner WSP.
