GERMANY: Stadtwerke Augsburg is testing ground lights at two tram stops as a means of warning distracted smartphone users when a tram is approaching.
The LED lights flash red when a tram is approaching, and SWA hopes that they will be more easily seen by pedestrians who are looking down at a smartphone as they approach the tram tracks.
The lights have been installed at Haunstetter Straße and Von-Parseval-Straße stops.
