ERMEWA: Leasing company Ermewa has merged its grain wagon leasing business Compagnie de Transports de Céréales and construction materials wagon specialist Société de Gérance de Wagons de Grandes Capacités into the main Ermewa brand with effect from the start of 2016.

Ermewa now has a combined fleet of more than 45 000 wagons of 350 types including vehicles for chemical, gas, oil, steel, construction, palletised products, wood and food transport. It reported total turnover of more than €250m in 2015, and has more than 170 employees at 17 offices.

‘The merging of these three railcar rental entities into a single brand, already recognised in its business sector, will allow Ermewa to consolidate the services and added value it provides its customers, as well as its position as a key player in the European market’, said Ermewa Group CEO David Zindo.

Ermewa is part of SNCF Logistics’ Ermewa Group, which has 700 staff at 30 sites and leases out locomotives under the Akiem brand, tank containers as Eurotainer and small containers as CCR. Its Ferifos, Sari, Segi and Orval workshops provide wagon maintenance and repairs.
