ROMANIA: Bucureşti metro operator Metrorex has exercised an option for CAF to supply eight six-car trainsets. The contract value is €47m, and is financed with European Investment Bank funds.

The stainless steel sets would be similar to the 16 that CAF has delivered under a €97m contract awarded in 2011. The first of these entered service on Line M2 in July this year.

The through-gangwayed trains would be 114 m long with capacity for 1 200 passengers, including two wheelchair spaces. There would be four motor cars and two trailer cars.
