INDIA: The Indian Railway Security Operations Centre has appointed Airtel to design, build, implement and operate a multi-layered cybersecurity ecosystem to safeguard Indian Railways’ IT backbone, which supports services including ticket booking, payments and tracking for more than 13 000 trains/day.

Airtel said it will make use of market leader technologies alongside ‘cutting-edge’ Make in India cybersecurity products to deliver a sovereign security ecosystem tailored for critical infrastructure protection.

This will provide a comprehensive compliance dashboard delivering centralised visibility and real-time monitoring across 26+ locations, an AI-driven monitoring system, patch and vulnerability management, threat intelligence and dark web monitoring and strong network and access controls.

‘We are honoured to be chosen by IRSOC as their trusted partner to fortify the security of India’s most complex and large-scale digital infrastructure’, said Sharat Sinha, CEO & Director of Airtel Business, on October 6.
