USA: Wagon fleet management services company AllTranstek was the prevailing bidder for the assets of RAS Data Services at an auction concluded on December 11 2025.

Darien, Illinois based RAS was founded in 2002 and provided outsourced management services for 500 000 wagons, but filed for bankruptcy in 2025.

The transaction is subject to final documentation and court approval, with closing expected in mid-January. AllTranstek said intends to retain key RAS personnel and work closely with clients and suppliers throughout the transition, which would ensure continuity for clients, suppliers and the broader rail industry. AllTranstek manages more than 325 000 wagons of various types.

‘Because AllTranstek already performs many of the same core services as RAS, this acquisition would allow us to step in immediately and maintain uninterrupted service’, said AllTranstek President Jeff Wilson on December 15. ‘Our focus would be on stability, client confidence, and strengthening the service delivery model while integrating RAS operations into AllTranstek’s platform.’
