ST Extruded Products Group’s Bonn plant has obtained IRIS Silver certification for aluminium rolling stock components and assemblies, following an audit by Bureau Veritas Germany Holding. ‘The IRIS Silver qualification confirms that we’re on the right track and our efforts have delivered the first positive results. Our aim now is to achieve the top performance level in the next audit’, said Sales Director Stefan Knabben.

ENSCO has established ENSCO Tecnologias do Brasil to provide railway inspection technologies and services in the South American market. ENSCO’s current customers included Rumo, MRS Logística, Vale and Supervia.

On February 3 Webuild announced that it had signed a contract with Deloitte Administrators to acquire the assets of Clough Ltd in Australia, including its contractual backlog which includes work on the Inland Rail project. The total value of the transaction is A$35·9m.

This indicates the total GDP impact of the US rail supply industry to be more than $75bn in 2020, providing more than 680 000 jobs. IntelliTrans and AllTranstek have announced a wagon maintenance tracking partnership. ‘IntelliTrans keeps track of where rail cars are moving’, said company President Ken Sherman. ‘By integrating data from AllTranstek, we can tell clients that their railcars need maintenance and where that maintenance can be done promptly to minimise lost time and get the wagon back to making money.’

Evgeny Vasilievich Gridasov became Director General of Transmashholding’s Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant on February 6, succeeding Andrey Vlasenko who is now Director General of maintenance services company LocoTech.
