Shareholders approved a dividend of SFr0·20 per registered share at Stadler Rail‘s 2025 annual general meeting. Peter Spuhler was re-elected as Chairman, and Doris Leuthard was elected to the Compensation Committee. Barbara Egger-Jenzer and Kurt Rüegg did not stand for re-election to the board, which has been reduced to eight members: Peter Spuhler, Hans-Peter Schwald, Prof Dr Stefan Asenkerschbaumer, Dr Christoph Franz, Danijela Karelse, Wojciech Kostrzewa, Doris Leuthard and Niko Warbanoff. Spuhler said ’I would like to thank the shareholders for their trust during these turbulent times in global politics. Their trust enables us to continue to develop rail vehicles of the highest quality, strengthen our industry and thus remain successful in the market.’

Titagarh has inaugurated a Vande Bharat sleeper trainset production line at the TRSL Passenger Rail Systems Unit plant in Kolkata.

Investments which are being made in rail worldwide represent an enormous opportunity for Vossloh, CEO Oliver Schuster told the company’s AGM on May 7. He said the need for considerable investment at Deutsche Bahn is ‘one of many major challenges’ for the incoming German government, and ‘we at Vossloh are ready to actively help with the urgently needed work on the German rail network and make the railways fit for the future.’

Swiss Federal Railways and IVU Traffic Technologies have completed the concept phase of a project to roll-out the use IVU.rail software for rolling stock and staff planning, optimisation and dispatching. ‘IVU.rail will allow us to replace various legacy systems and, in doing so, organise our processes more efficiently in a single system. This will save resources and give us much more flexibility in terms of planning and operations’, said Reto Liechti, head of Railway Production in the Passenger Services Production division at SBB.

The Executive Committee of the European Transport Workers’ Federation has elected Giorgio Tuti as president, succeeding Frank Moreels who has stepped own to become President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation. Tuti was President of Swiss transport workers’ union SEV in 2009-23, and has chaired the ETF Railways Section since 2017.

Rail infrastructure construction, maintenance, and technology integration company RailWorks has joined the executive committee of the US High Speed Rail Association.

Alstom has appointed Andrew DeLeone as Europe Region President from June 1, succeeding Gian Luca Erbacci who is retiring. Martin Vaujour replaces DeLeone as Africa, Middle East & Central Asia Region President, and becomes a member of Alstom’s Executive Committee.

Amey has appointed Colin Wood as a member of the Group Executive Committee and Managing Director of its Consulting business which operates in the UK, Ireland and the USA. He replaces Alex Gilbert who will take up a new role supporting growth across the group.

Markus Vaerst became CEO of wagon leasing company Wascosa Group on April 30, succeeding Iris Hilb, who has stepped down for personal reasons. Vaerst joined Wascosa in 2019, initially as Chief Operating Officer, and has been Chief Digital & Quality Officer since the end of 2022.
