INAUGURATION ALSTOM_13 JUIN 2025

Alstom has extended its factory in Aix-en-Provence, opening a hub for signalling technology and hydrogen traction at the site. Known as Delta, the new buildings were opened on June 13 by Frédéric Wiscart, Chief Executive of Alstom France, and local transport and municipal leaders. Delta covers 7 300 m² and will be home to 300 employees. It will produce components and digital systems for signalling, especially CBTC and ATO tools for urban rail applications, as well as working on technology for other sectors, including electric road vehicles. The site is also being used by high power hydrogen fuel cell company Helion Hydrogen Power, which Alstom acquired in April 2021.

State railway group MÁV has announced that its MÁV Rail-Tours subsidiary is carrying out test runs for the four double-deck EMUs leased by CRRC ZELC for Westbahn as part of work to obtain certification for their use in Hungary.

Stadler Bussnang and Stadler Rheintal were merged into a single business unit on June 20 to form Stadler Rail Schweiz. The rolling stock and signalling supplier said the merger would simplify administrative processes and increased collaboration between the two Swiss sites. The two locations will continue to operate with their existing organisational and management structures. ‘The merger will further strengthen the already very close collaboration between the two locations and significantly simplify administrative processes’, said Lucius Gerig, Head of Stadler Rail’s Switzerland division.

Algerian rolling stock producer Cital and Belgian industrial traction specialist John Cockerill have agreed to work on a joint venture to produce locomotives in the north African country for use locally and across the MENA region. Cital already acts as Alstom’s local production partner, delivering several batches of Citadis trams and Coradia EMUs for the Algerian market over recent years.
