Kuehne + Nagel has launched a less-than-container-load rail freight service from China to Europe.

INTERNATIONAL: Kuehne + Nagel has launched a less-than-container-load rail freight service from Wuhan to Poznań, Duisburg and Hamburg via Russia. Complementing its established full container service, KN Eurasia Express is targeted at shipments from industries such as automotive, high-tech and fashion. Eastbound services from Europe to Asia are also available.

‘Enhanced’ container seals are used, along with GPS tracking and real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, pressure and light exposure. Temperature-sensitive goods can be shipped in 45 ft reefer containers.

‘With transit times of between 14 and 18 days from departure to destination terminal, we offer our customers much faster delivery times compared to maritime transport, at lower costs compared to air freight’, said Kuehne + Nagel International board member Otto Schacht. ‘Reliable departure and transit times ensure planning reliability. By using our KN Login information platform, our customers can also access fully transparent information about the status of their deliveries.’

Kuehne + Nagel has more than 50 collection points in China, including Shenyang, Chongqing, Chengdu and Zhengzhou. It has also organised block trains from China to Turkey, and LCL services between China and Russia are being planned.
