LokoTrain Ceská Trebová has taken delivery of the first locomotive it has bought outright.

CZECH REPUBLIC: Open access freight operator LokoTrain has taken delivery of the first locomotive it has bought outright, a Škoda Class 43 electric locomotive which previously belonged to Bulgarian national operator BDZ.

The locomotive has been modernised by CZ Loko and ČMŽO Přerov, with the installation of new cabling, Mirel train control equipment, Tramex speedometers and cab air-conditioning. It is to be deployed on freight services from Břeclav to Štúrovo in Slovakia and Rajka in Hungary.

Last October LokoTrain leased its first multi-voltage electric locomotive, a Siemens ES64F4-841 hired from MRCE.

As well as operating freight trains, Česká Třebová-based LokoTrain has organised the lease of PKP Cargo electric locomotives to Czech and Slovak private operators and also recruits and trains drivers and other staff.
