ASIA: A tender for the appointment of a joint development partner to support the international aspects of the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore high speed rail project is to be issued jointly by Malaysia’s project delivery body MyHSR Corp and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority on August 22.

The JDP would provide project management support and technical and procurement advice relating to railway systems and operations, and develop the technical and safety standards to be adopted.

The JDP would also assist the two countries’ joint project team with the preparation of tender documents for the shared aspects of the project. This would include the appointment of the AssetsCo, which is to supply and maintain the railway systems and trainsets on the 350 km route, and OpCo International, which will operate Kuala Lumpur – Singapore and cross-border shuttle train services.

The JDP tender will be open to companies which have advised on large public-private partnership infrastructure projects of similar size and complexity, and those with experience of providing project management, technical, commercial or legal advisory services relating to high speed or large conventional rail projects of more than 200 track-km.
