DART train at Howth Junction

IRELAND: National railway Iarnród Éireann has appointed Arup to provide rail, civil works structural and environmentally consultancy services for the planned upgrading of the existing Dublin Area Rapid Transit network as part of the wider DART+ expansion programme.

The project involves extending Dublin’s electrified suburban services northwards to Drogheda, as well as improving services along the line running south to Greystones.

The design and planning phase is scheduled to last for three years until 2024, with tendering and construction then running until 2027.
