LAV Extremadura_Tramo Talayuela-Cáceres_subtramo finalizado Casatejada-Toril_plataforma y viaducto sobre arroyo del Pizarral

SPAIN: High speed line infrastructure manager ADIF Alta Velocidad has awarded three contracts for the 69 km Plasencia –Talayuela section of the Madrid – Extremadura high speed line project.

The UTE consortium of Hitachi Rail and Sistem has been awarded a €126·5m contract to install signalling and traffic management systems. This includes interlockings, train protection systems, fixed telecoms, ETCS Level 2 and a centralised traffic control system. The contract announced by the suppliers on November 13 includes 48 months of maintenance of the deployed equipment.

Nokia Spain, Sociedad Iberica de Construcciones Electricas and Syneox Rail have been awarded an €8·2m contract for the installation and maintenance of power supplies for mobile telecoms.

Contratats & Ventas has been awarded a 17 month contract worth €31·0m for the construction of a tracklaying base near Navalmoral de la Mata which will be used for the stockpiling of ballast, sleepers, rail and turnouts and for the assembly of track panels. The 140 000 m² site will have 11 broad gauge tracks and connections to the existing Madrid to Talayuela and Badajoz main line. Once tracklaying is complete, it will become a maintenance base.
