MALAYSIA: MRT Corp announced on March 10 that it had awarded four works packages for the SSP Line which is under construction in the Klang Valley.

The contracts include the final three of the 10 viaduct civil works packages to be awarded. Trans Resources Corp won an 858·2m ringgit contract to build the Kampung Muhibbah – Serdang Raya section; Gadang Engineering will build the Serdang Raya – UPM section under a 952·1m ringgit contract; and Acre Works has a 716m ringgit contract covering the Persiaran Alpinia – Persiaran APEC section.

The other works package is worth 212·3m ringgit and covers the construction of Damansara Damai, Sri Damansara West, Sri Damansara East stations. Sunway Construction is the contractor.

The 52·2 km line will link Sungai Buloh, Serdang and Putrajaya with 26 above-ground and 11 underground stations. An MMC-Gamuda joint venture is acting as lead contractor.
