CRRC: Chinese rolling stock manufacturer CRRC will be exhibiting two vehicles on the outdoor display at InnoTrans 2018.

CRRC Zhuzhou is bringing a hybrid shunting locomotive developed for Deutsche Bahn, which ordered four of the vehicles earlier this year. The 750 kW TSI-compliant AZLok locomotives will be able to operate using diesel, third rail electric or battery power.

The other vehicle will be a Cetrovo metro car. CRRC’s next generation of metro vehicles will feature a carbon fibre bodyshell, which results in a 13% weight reduction compared with conventional metro vehicles. Cetrovo is fitted with permanent magnet synchronous motors, silicon carbide converters and emergency traction batteries with a range of 15 km.

The passenger compartment will feature air-conditioning and lighting that automatically adjust based on external conditions. Touch-screen windows will allow passengers to access infotainment content including videos.

An intelligent inspection and maintenance robot will be on the company’s stand, and visitors can also find out about CRRC’s real-time data collection and analysis for condition-based maintenance of rolling stock.

CRRC will also present designs for a high-speed freight EMU. The vehicle is based on the manufacturer’s existing EMU designs and would operate at speeds of 250 km/h and above.
