PHILIPPINES: The Department of Transportation & Communications has awarded a 540m yuan contract to CNR Dalian for the supply of 12 light metro vehicles for Manila metro Line 3. The first trainset is due to be delivered at the end of 2015.
The four-section articulated vehicles will be 31 m long, 2 500 mm wide and 3·65 m high with a maximum operating speed of 65 km/h. They are designed for local conditions, with powerful air-conditioning and stainless-steel bodies for better corrosion resistance.
